A benchmark dynamic instrument microphone, the SM57 is bright, clean and articulate. It has a cardioid pickup pattern that isolates noise and prevents bleed from other instruments or ambient sounds. With a pneumatic shock absorber, the SM57 is exceptionally durable and can survive a good thrashing on stage like the SM58. 

It’s widely used for drums, guitars and amplifiers and can be used indoors or out, in both studio and live audio situations.
